Malaysia recorded 6 new Covid-19 cases, taking the number of total infections in the country to 9,340, says the Health Ministry.
The ministry also announced another fatality from the disease, raising the death toll to 127 as of Monday (Aug 31).
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah (pic) posted on Twitter that as of Aug 31, the number of new discharge cases was six, taking the number of cumulative discharge cases to 9,054 (96.9%).
He also revealed that there are 159 active cases being treated at the health facilities across the country, with six patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and four other cases requiring ventilator support.

Malaysia recorded 17 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday (Aug 30), bringing the total number of infections to 9,334 cases.
Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said out of the 17 new cases, 15 were imported cases involving 11 Malaysians and four non-Malaysians.
They involved infections that happened abroad in India, Saudi Arabia and Japan.
Meanwhile, the two locally transmitted cases involved two Malaysians who were close contacts of Covid-19 patients in Selangor and Kedah.
There has been one more Covid-19 death, bringing the death toll to 126.
“The 126th death is case 9,290, a Malaysian male aged 75 with a history of diabetes, high blood pressure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and heart disease.
“He had no travel history. He started displaying symptoms such as cough and difficulty in breathing on Aug 7 and was admitted to Sultanah Bahiyah hospital in Kedah for pneumonia.
“He was discharged from the hospital on Aug 18, but suffered from cough and respiratory problems on Aug 21 and received treatment on Aug 24 at Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah.
“The screening test showed that he was Covid-19 positive. His health condition deteriorated and he died on Aug 29 at 5.10pm,” Dr Noor Hisham said.
He also said 10 patients had recovered, with a total of 9,048 patients, or 96.9% out of the overall number of cases discharged since the Covid-19 outbreak began.
There are currently 160 active cases being treated at the country’s health facilities, with seven patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) and five of them on ventilator support.

Malaysia recorded 11 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday (Aug 29), bringing the total number of infections to 9,317 cases.
Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said out of the 11 new cases, 10 were imported cases involving six Malaysians and four non-Malaysians.
They were of infections that happened abroad in India, Indonesia and Qatar.
Meanwhile, the sole locally transmitted case involved a Malaysian who tested positive for the virus during a pre-surgery screening at the Sarawak General Hospital.
“There were no Covid-19 related deaths reported, keeping the death toll at 125 or 1.34% out of the total number of cases,” he said in a statement on Saturday.
Dr Noor Hisham also said eight patients had recovered, with a total of 9,038 patients, or 97% out of the overall number of cases discharged since the Covid-19 outbreak began.
There are currently 154 active cases being treated at the country’s health facilities, with eight patients in the intensive care units (ICU) and six of them on ventilator support.
The Health Ministry said the Terendak Camp’s military hospital in Melaka, along with the state Health department, are taking steps to address Covid-19 cases among its staff and patients.
Three Covid-19 cases have been detected at the hospital so far, comprising two found during pre-surgery screening and one staff member at the hospital.
The Health Ministry has said that risk assessment is being carried out among its staff members.
“Active case detection and screening among close contacts of the Covid-19 cases is being conducted.
“Instructions for home quarantine have also been given to the close contacts. For individuals who have severe respiratory symptoms, they will be referred to hospitals for isolation and further treatment,” Dr Noor Hisham said.
He added that as of Aug 29, as many as 109 people have been identified as close contacts to the Covid-19 positive cases and are awaiting their test results.

Malaysia has confirmed 10 new Covid-19 cases, which included eight import cases and two local transmissions.
This brought the total number of cases in the country to 9,306 since the outbreak began, said Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a statement.
The imported cases involved a Malaysian and seven foreigners who were infected in India (seven cases) and the Philippines (one).
The two local transmissions involved one Malaysian in Kedah, who was detected from a screening on symptomatic cases, and a non-Malaysian who was among detainees at the Bukit Jalil immigration detention depot who was screened for the virus.
For the second day in a row, there are no cases from the Tawar cluster, which has 73 confirmed cases so far.
Malaysia also discharged 36 more patients, which means the total number of recoveries is 9,030, or at a rate of 97%.
The total number of active cases in the country is now at 151 cases.

Malaysia recorded 11 new Covid-19 cases Tuesday (Aug 25), with five cases attributed to the Tawar cluster in the northern states, says the Health Ministry.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said all five new cases linked to the Tawar cluster were detected in Kedah following active case detection work by the ministry.
This brings the total number of cases related to the cluster to 70.
On the other local transmissions, two more were detected in Kedah, one in Selangor and one in Perlis.
There were two import cases involving one Malaysian returning from the Philippines and a foreigner arriving from Indonesia.
Cumulatively, Malaysia has had 9,285 cases since the outbreak began.

Seven new cases reported Monday (Aug 24), no new deaths.
Five out of seven new Covid-19 cases reported on Monday (Aug 24) in Malaysia were local transmissions detected in Sarawak, says the Health Ministry.
In a statement Monday, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said of the five cases, three involved foreigners while two were Malaysians.
“On the three non-Malaysians, two were detected from a screening conducted at their workplace. Both were asymptomatic and have been admitted to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).
“One case was detected following a screening done prior to the individual returning to his home country.
“As for the two Malaysians, one was also a case found due to screening held at the workplace. Another was detected from a screening before giving birth. All were asymptomatic and have been brought to SGH,” said Dr Noor Hisham in a statement.
Meanwhile, the country also recorded two import cases involving Malaysians returning from the Philippines and the United States.
Dr Noor Hisham also announced that the country discharged six more patients, which means the total number of recoveries is 8,965 or at a rate of 96.7%.
Cumulatively, Malaysia has had 9,274 cases since the outbreak began.
The total number of active cases in the country is now 184 cases.

Malaysia recorded 10 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday (Aug 23), bringing the total number of infections to 9,267 cases, according to the Health Ministry.
Eight cases were imported, while two involved local transmissions.
Out of the eight cases, three are from Japan, three are from Indonesia, one is from the Maldives, and one is from Mexico, said Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a Facebook post on Sunday.
The three cases from Japan were detected in Sarawak, while two of the Indonesian cases were detected in Selangor and the remaining three cases involving an Indonesian, a person from the Maldives and a person from Mexico were detected in Kuala Lumpur.
Noor Hisham said of the 27 Alam cluster-linked individuals screened so far, seven had tested positive while 18 tested negative and two others were awaiting their results.
The Alam cluster was detected in an oil tanker in Bintulu when four positive cases were reported on Thursday (Aug 20
He added that contact tracing for the locally transmitted Tawar cluster was ongoing, saying that 3,286 individuals from Kedah, Penang and Perak had been screened so far.
The total number of Tawar cluster cases increased from 63 the previous day to 65 as at noon Sunday.
Of the 2,758 individuals screened in Kedah, 54 tested positive, 2,362 tested negative, and 342 were still awaiting results.
Of the 517 individuals linked to the Tawar cluster screened in Penang, 11 tested positive, and 506 had tested negative while all of the 11 individuals in Perak linked to the cluster had tested negative.
He added that 10 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, with a total of 8,959 patients discharged since the Covid-19 outbreak began in the country.
There are currently 183 active cases that are being treated at the country’s health facilities.
Nine patients are being treated at the intensive care units (ICU) with four of them on ventilator support.

Malaysia recorded 8 new Covid-19 cases as of Saturday (Aug 22), bringing the total infections in the country to 9,257.
Out of the eight new cases, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said three were imported cases, while the rest were local transmissions.
The imported cases involved one Malaysian and two foreigners.
In the local transmission cases, Dr Noor Hisham said all five cases were from the Tawar cluster in Kedah.
To date, Dr Noor Hisham said there were a total of 63 positive Covid-19 cases from this cluster, with 52 cases from Kedah and 11 cases in Penang.
As of Saturday, 2,942 people from the Tawar cluster have been screened, with 2,414 people screened in Kedah while 517 were tested in Penang.
He noted that all 11 persons screened in Perak tested negative.

The new cluster has been dubbed the “Maju cluster”, and it involves one Malaysian and two foreigners.

Malaysia recorded 5 new Covid-19 cases Thursday (Aug 20), says the Health Ministry.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said all were import cases.
“The five involved two Malaysians and three foreigners. The cases were from Japan (four cases in Sarawak) and Bangladesh (one case in Selangor),” he said.
He added that no new deaths were reported and the death toll in the country remains at 125 cases.
Dr Noor Hisham said a new cluster (the Alam cluster), which was isolated, had been identified on a vessel at Bintulu, Sarawak.
“As of now, four positive cases were traced on the vessel. The cluster was identified following Covid-19 screenings on five crew who experienced symptoms.
“Four of them tested positive while the remaining one is still awaiting lab results,” he said.
He added that the positive cases were import cases who were infected overseas involving two Malaysians and two foreigners.
“The vessel had been to Japan. They are receiving medical treatment at the Bintulu Hospital. This cluster does not pose a threat of spreading to the community because it is an isolated import cluster on a ship,” he said adding that active case detection and contact screenings were being conducted.
Noor Hisham added that preventive measures such as decontamination and sanitising processes have been carried out on the vessel.
Cumulatively, the country has had a total of 9,240 infections since the outbreak began earlier this year.
Dr Noor Hisham also reported seven more cases have been discharged, which brings the total recoveries in the country to 8,932.
This translates to a recovery rate of 96.7% out of the total number of cases in the country.
The number of active cases has now gone down to 183 from 185 the previous day.

Malaysia recorded 16 new Covid-19 cases Wednesday (Aug 19) with 11 of them related to the Tawar and Sala clusters in the northern states, says the Health Minister.

The three new cases in Sala were all based in Kedah and also involved Malaysians.

Malaysia recorded 25 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday (Aug 16), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 9,200 cases.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah on Sunday (Aug 16) said out of this total, 16 were imported cases while the nine were local transmissions.
He said of the nine local transmissions, seven were Malaysians and two foreigners.
“Out of the seven cases transmitted locally that involved Malaysians, five cases were from the Tawar cluster in Kedah, one case from the pre-surgery vetting test at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kota Kinabalu and another case also from the Tawar cluster in Penang,” he said in a statement.

Malaysia recorded 20 new Covid-19 cases as of Friday (Aug 14), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 9,149.
Out of the 20 new cases, Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said seven were imported cases, while the rest were local transmissions.
He added that the seven imported cases consists of six Malaysians and a foreigner. Eleven of the local transmission cases were from the Tawar, Kedah cluster.
Dr Noor Hisham said that aside from the 11, one of the local transmission cases was from the Muda cluster in Kedah and another was from a Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (Sari) screening.
“There were 11 new cases reported in the Tawar cluster today – 10 cases in Kedah and one case in Penang. Case 9,129 from this cluster which was reported yesterday has been transferred to the Penang Hospital from a private hospital. This case will remain as a case from Kedah,” he said in a statement.
Dr Noor Hisham said as of Friday, 261 people from the Tawar cluster had been screened, adding that 21 of the 261 tested positive.
He also said there were four Covid-19 cases being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), adding that one case required ventilator support.
He also said there were currently 196 active cases in the country.
Dr Noor Hisham added that seven patients have been discharged, bringing the total cumulative discharged cases to 8,828.

Malaysia recorded a new cluster in Tawar, Kedah, with nine in a family among the 15 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday (Aug 13).
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that 11 out of the 15 new cases were local transmissions, with nine cases from the Tawar cluster.
“A new cluster has been identified in the Tawar district in Kedah. The first case of this cluster is a Malaysian man, a trader, who had a history of attending a religious event to commemorate the death of a family member.
“The event that went on from July 31 to Aug 1 was estimated to have been attended by 30 people, ” said Dr Noor Hisham in a press conference on Thursday (Aug 13).
He said on Aug 8, the index case experienced chest pains and fever, and immediately sought treatment before testing positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday (Aug 11).
Dr Noor Hisham added that active case detection and close contact screening was done for 86 individuals, where nine of the man’s family members tested positive for the virus and three of them were symptomatic.
“All the new cases in this cluster are his family members. We have tested 86 of his close contacts and nine tested positive, 21 tested negative and 56 others are still awaiting results, ’ said Dr Noor Hisham.
He added that with the 15 new cases reported on Thursday, of which 11 were local transmissions and four were imported, this total infections in the country was 9,129.
Besides the nine cases in the Tawar cluster, the two remaining local cases reported were in Kuala Lumpur involving a Malaysian and a non-citizen.
“Meanwhile, the four imported cases consisted of all Malaysian students returning from Indonesia and Yemen,” he said.
Dr Noor Hisham added there are now two positive Covid-19 cases being treated in the intensive care units (ICU) but none required ventilator support.
He also said there were currently 183 active cases in the country.

Malaysia recorded 11 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday (Aug 12), bringing total infections in the country to 9,114.
Out of the 11 new cases, Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah (pic) said eight were imported cases, while the rest were local transmissions.
The eight imported cases consisted of seven Malaysians and a non-citizen returning from Singapore, the Philippines, Australia and Japan.
On the three local transmissions, Dr Noor Hisham said it involved two Malaysians and one non-citizen.
“The two local cases involving Malaysians were symptomatic screening cases at a medical institute in Kedah, but the cases are not related to each other,” he said in his daily press statement on Wednesday.
The sole local case involving the non-citizen was a result of screening for new detainees at a police lockup in Tawau, Sabah, he said.
There is now one positive Covid-19 case being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and no patient is currently requiring ventilator support, he added.
He also said that there were currently 172 active cases in the country.

Malaysia recorded 9 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday (Aug 11), bringing total infections in the country to 9,103.
Out of the nine new cases, Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah (pic) said five were imported cases, while the rest were local transmissions.
The five imported cases consisted of three Malaysians and two non-citizens who were returning from Japan, India, Pakistan, New Zealand and Singapore.
On the four local transmissions, Dr Noor Hisham said it involved all non-Malaysians.
“Three cases were detected in Kuala Lumpur after undergoing screening at the Bukit Jalil Immigration Detention Depot and one was detected in Sabah,” he said in his daily press statement on Tuesday.
No new cases were recorded for the Sivagangga cluster in Kedah or the Kurau cluster in Perak on Tuesday (Aug 11).
“There are two positive Covid-19 cases that are being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) but no case requiring ventilator support,” he added.
He also said that there were currently 169 active cases in the country.

Malaysia recorded 11 new Covid-19 cases on Monday (Aug 10), bringing total infections in the country to 9,094.
Out of the 11 new cases, Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said five were imported cases, while the rest were local transmissions.
The five imported cases consist of five Malaysians who were returning from Australia, Japan and Singapore.
On the six local transmissions, Dr Noor Hisham said five involved Malaysians and one involved a foreigner, who was screened at the workplace in Selangor.
For the local transmission cases that involved Malaysians, three were from the Kurau cluster in Perak, one was from Johor and another from Melaka.

Malaysia recorded 13 new Covid-19 cases as of Sunday (Aug 9), bringing total infections in the country to 9,083.
Out of the 13 new cases, Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said nine were imported cases, while the rest were local transmissions.

Malaysia recorded 7 new Covid-19 cases and no new deaths on Saturday (Aug 8), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 9,070.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that none were from the Sivagangga cluster, adding that six were imported cases, consisting of three Malaysians and three foreigners.
Dr Noor Hisham added that the remaining case was a local transmission involving a Malaysian who was detected after undergoing Covid-19 screening at his workplace in Negeri Sembilan.
He also said that there were no new cases reported from the Sivagangga cluster.
“As of 12pm, Aug 8,4, 198 people have been screened from this cluster. The total number of people who have been screened include the screenings from Kedah, Perlis and Penang,” he said in a statement on Saturday (Aug 8).
He added that 43 of the 4,198 people tested were positive while 3,235 tested negative and 920 were still waiting for their results.
Dr Noor Hisham also said that there are two Covid-19 cases that are currently being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and one case that requires ventilator support.
He also said that there were currently 170 active cases in the country.
Dr Noor Hisham added that 47 patients have been discharged bringing the total cumulative discharged cases to 8,775.

Malaysia recorded 25 new Covid-19 cases on Friday (Aug 7), with 12 of them related to the persons under investigation (PUI) of the Sivagangga cluster in Napoh, Kubang Pasu, Kedah.
Health director-general Datuk Seri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said this brings the total number of infections to 9,063 cases.
Out of the 25 new cases, 16 were locally transmitted cases involving 15 Malaysians and one non-citizen.
“In Perlis, there are now 10 new cases from the PUI Sivagangga cluster.
“In Kedah and Penang, there is one case each from the PUI Sivagangga cluster, ” he said in his daily press statement on Friday (Aug 7).
In Perak, there were two cases of influenza-like illness (ILI) and in Kuala Lumpur, there was one case whereby the patient had been admitted to Hospital Sungai Buloh.
He said that the sole local transmission case involving a non-citizen was of a detained undocumented immigrant in Johor.
Meanwhile, Dr Noor Hisham said the remaining nine cases were imported and involved eight Malaysians and one non-citizen.
The imported cases were of infections that happened abroad in the Philippines, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Djibouti, Australia and Yemen.
He added that the country saw no new Covid-19 deaths, keeping the death toll at 125.
Dr Noor Hisham also said 15 patients had recovered on Friday, with a total of 8,728 patients discharged since Covid-19 outbreak began.

Malaysia recorded 15 new Covid-19 cases and 11 recoveries on Thursday (Aug 6), bringing the total infections in the country to 9,038.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said of the new cases, five were imported involving three Malaysians and two non-Malaysians.
The others were local transmissions involving eight Malaysians and two non-Malaysians.
“The six local transmissions were linked to the Sivagangga cluster in Kedah, while two cases were found in Negri Sembilan, one from Kuala Lumpur and another from Labuan,” Dr Noor Hisham said.
The six found to be linked to the Sivagangga cluster were second generations of infection, said Dr Noor Hisham, with one person found to be a close contact to a family member who visited the nasi kandar restaurant in Jitra.
Five others involved a family who visited a location which has now been put under the enhanced movement control order (MCO) in Kedah, while the source of infection is still under investigation.
He also said there were 11 recoveries, bringing the total number to 8,713.
He added that two Covid-19 patients are in the intensive care unit (ICU) with one requiring a ventilator.

Malaysia recorded 21 new Covid-19 cases and 18 recoveries on Wednesday (Aug 5), bringing the total infections in the country to 9,023 cases.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there are 196 active cases in the country now.
“Of the 21 new infections, 15 were imported cases involving Malaysians returnees and six were local transmissions, ” he said in a statement on Wednesday.

There were 14 new cases of Covid-19 in Malaysia reported on Sunday (Aug 2), bringing total infections to 8,999.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said 13 of the new cases were local transmissions involving Malaysians and there was only one imported case involving a foreigner who came from the Philippines.
“Eleven of the new cases were linked to the Sivagangga Patient Under Investigation (PUI) cluster in Kedah while two were detected at the maritime entry point in Labuan involving a student from Sandakan who was about to begin his studies there and another from Penampang who was on a family holiday,” he said.
He said 11 patients from the cluster that were reported to the Crises Preparedness Response Centre included two children aged seven and 10.
Dr Noor Hisham also said 17 recoveries were recorded on Sunday, bringing total to 8,664.
He said two patients are being treated at the intensive care units with one of them requiring a ventilator.
No deaths were reported. The death toll remains at 125.
Meanwhile, Dr Noor Hisham said 313 people from the Sivagangga PUI cluster had been tested for the illness and 20 of them came back positive and were sent to Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah in Alor Setar for treatment.
The results of 280 others came back negative for the virus while the results of 13 more are still pending.
“All 20 who tested positive are active cases and 15 of them are Malaysians,” Dr Noor Hisham said.
Active case detection of other close contacts are ongoing and sanitisation works have been carried out at premises where patients had been including schools and homes, he said in a statement.

A total of 9 cases have been detected but with no Covid-19 deaths as of Aug 1, says Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
Seven of the new cases were imported, involving five Malaysians returning from overseas.
He revealed that authorities had detected a case in Selangor which originated from the Bukit Tiram cluster in Johor.
The other local transmission is a Malaysian from the Sivagangga cluster in Kedah.
“There are three more recoveries and the total number of recovered cases now stand at 8,647, which is a recovery rate of 96.2%.
“As at noon Aug 1, there are two cases in the intensive care unit, with one needing ventilator.
“There has been no increase in fatalities with the total deaths in Malaysia remaining at 125 cases, ” Dr Noor Hisham said in his daily update on the Covid-19 pandemic yesterday.
He also said that 135 individuals in the Bukit Tiram cluster had been screened.
“Ten have tested positive for Covid-19,124 were negative and one is still awaiting results.
“Of the 10 positive, four are foreigners, ” he said.
He reminded the public that the enforcement of mandatory face masks on public transport and in crowded areas had started.
Individuals not wearing face masks in crowded public places will face a RM1,000 fine under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act.
Dr Noor Hisham said constant hand washing or hand sanitising along with physical distancing of at least one metre from others must also be followed.
“There are two types of face masks that can be used for prevention – medical and non-medical.
“The three-ply surgical mask is to be used by health personnel, those who have symptoms of respiratory illnesses, high-risk groups (those aged 60 and above) and by those who suffer from chronic illnesses such as diabetes and high blood pressure.
“The non-medical face mask is recommended for those who do not have any symptoms but are in crowded places where physical distancing may be difficult, ” he said.
He cautioned that not all fabric face masks sold in the market were effective and the public must not share the same face mask.

Malaysia recorded 12 new Covid-19 cases on Friday (July 31), bringing the country’s total number of infections to 8,976.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said out of the new cases, five were imported, involving two Malaysians and three foreigners travelling from Indonesia, Qatar and the United Kingdom.
The remaining seven cases were local transmissions, involving five Malaysians and two foreigners.
The local transmission cases involving Malaysians were detected from a pre-operative screening in Hospital Sultan Ismail, Johor (one); the Sivagangga cluster in Kedah (two); a pre-operative screening in a medical centre in Selangor (one); and a screening done at a lock-up in Negri Sembilan before the individual was transferred to prison.
The local transmission cases which involved foreigners were detected in Johor and Sabah.
As of Friday, there are 207 active cases.
Dr Noor Hisham added that eight Covid-19 cases have been linked to the Sivagangga cluster in Kedah.
He said 262 people linked to the cluster have been screened for Covid-19 as of July 31.
Out of the number, eight were found to be positive, 251 negative and three were still pending test results.
“Out of the eight positive cases, five are not Malaysians. Active case detection of close contacts is still being carried out, ” he said in a statement on Friday (July 31).
There are also three patients receiving treatment at intensive care units, with one on a ventilator.
Dr Noor Hisham said 27 patients have also recovered from the disease bringing the number of recoveries to 8,644.
However, one more death due to Covid-19 was recorded, bringing the death toll up 125.
The latest death was patient 8,974, a 64-year-old Filipino man with a history of heart problems.
The man had fever, cough and respiratory problems on July 25 but did not seek treatment.
On July 29, he was found unconscious and taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Sabah where he died.
A subsequent test showed he was Covid-19 positive.

The country has recorded 13 new Covid-19 cases, with five recoveries.
Of the 13 cases, eight were imported, the Health Ministry said in a tweet Wednesday (July 29).
The number of fatal cases remains at 124.
It also said that the amount of active cases in the country has increased to 220 cases.
While the exact cause of the Sentosa cluster in Sarawak is still under investigation, the Health Ministry’s preliminary results showed that it was highly likely that the infection started from “activities in the community”.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, in a statement Wednesday (July 29), said that as of 12pm, a total of 1,026 people have been screened, and that the cluster involved cases of up to the second generation.
“Thirty one have been found to have tested positive for Covid-19,888 tested negative and 107 results are still pending,” he said.
Of the 1,026 screened, a total of 17 medical personnel and one patient tested positive.
Of the five new local infections today, one new case was recorded from the Sentosa cluster.
“The capacity of the lab in Sarawak General Hospital is 1,000 tests a day.
“An additional 100 more from the Sarawak Heart Institute, 500 from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) and 150 from the Borneo Medical Centre can be obtained if needed,” he said.

The Health Ministry has reported two new Covid-19 clusters in the country with nine positive cases of Covid-19 detected so far.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the clusters are PUI Sivagangga India in Kedah and Satok in Sarawak.
“The PUI Sivagangga India cluster recorded five positive cases while the Satok cluster reported four positive cases so far, ” he said, adding that active case detection is also ongoing.

“There are 212 active cases in the country now.

Malaysia is back to a single-digit increase in Covid-19 infections on Monday (July 27), with seven new cases. This brings the total number of infections to 8,904 cases.

He said the four imported cases were of infections contracted abroad in Pakistan, Russia, Australia and Indonesia, while the three locally-transmitted cases involved Malaysians in Sabah.

There were 13 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday (July 26), bringing the country’s total cases to 8,897.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, in a statement, said three of the new cases were imported involving a Malaysian and two foreigners who were allowed into the country.
“The three imported cases came in from Pakistan, Kazakhstan and Indonesia. Two of the cases were detected in Kuala Lumpur, while one was detected in Kelantan,” he said.
The balance of the new cases were local transmissions involving a foreigner and nine Malaysians.
The foreigner and six other Malaysians were part of the Bukit Tiram cluster in Johor, while one each was detected in Pahang, Sabah and Sarawak.
“The latest case in Sarawak is from the Sentosa cluster,” he said.
There are also two patients receiving treatment at intensive care units with one of them put on a ventilator.
Dr Noor Hisham said six patients have also recovered from the disease bringing the number of recoveries to 8,600.
However, the disease also claimed another life, bringing the total number of deaths from Covid-19 in Malaysia to 124.
The deceased was a 63-year-old local woman who had a background of high blood pressure, diabetes and hypercholesterolemia.
Dr Noor Hisham said the woman had a fever and cough on July 3 and received treatment on July 9, before she was admitted to Hospital Kuching on the same day for further treatment.
“However, her condition worsened and she died on July 26 at 12.04am,” he said.

Malaysia recorded 15 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday (July 19), bringing the total number of infections to 8,779 cases.
Eleven cases were local transmissions, while four cases were imported.
Of the 11 locally transmitted cases, eight involved Malaysians while three involved non-citizens, said Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
Of the locally infected cases involving Malaysians, five were recorded in Sarawak and one each in Selangor, Sabah, and Johor.
Dr Noor Hisham also said seven patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, with a total of 8,553 patients discharged since the Covid-19 outbreak began.
There are currently 103 active cases that are being treated at the country’s health facilities.
Two patients are being treated at the intensive care unit (ICU) with one of them on ventilator support.
There was one death reported on Sunday, with the death toll now at 123.
The latest death involved a 72-year-old man with the history of chronic high-blood pressure and stroke.
He was referred to Hospital Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom (HEBHK) in Kluang on July 17 and died on the same day.

The Health Ministry has detected 9 new Covid-19 cases as at noon Saturday (July 18), which brings the total nationwide to 8,764.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that five more cases were discharged, bringing the total number of recoveries to 8,546, which translates to a 97.5% recovery rate.
Of the nine new cases, he said four were imported cases involving three Malaysians and a non-citizen who was married to a Malaysian.
“From the five local transmission cases in the country, one was from a foreigner who was screened before flying to China. The person was asymptomatic and has been admitted to the Sarawak General Hospital.
“The remaining four local transmission cases were detected among Malaysians in Sarawak,” he said in a statement on Saturday (July 18).
Of the four local transmission cases, Dr Noor Hisham said one person was detected from the Mambong cluster, while two cases were detected from the Stutong cluster.
He added that one case was detected from a pre-procedure screening at the Bau Hospital in Kuching.
The Stutong cluster, Dr Noor Hisham said, is a new cluster.
He said it was detected in a market in Stutong, Sarawak, adding that 218 traders have been screened.
Of those who have been screened, 56 people have been tested, and two were found to be positive Covid-19 while 54 others were negative.
“This cluster was detected as a result of a Covid-19 screening of traders in the market who have been identified as one of the targeted groups.
“The market is temporarily closed to allow the cleaning and disinfection process,” he said.
For the Mambong cluster, Dr Noor Hisham said a total of five Covid-19 cases have been detected among 70 people who have been screened and 65 were still waiting for the results.
He added that the cluster involved a Malaysian and a Filipino who were the index cases.
Dr Noor Hisham added that there were currently 96 active Covid-19 cases in the country.
“There is one positive Covid-19 case being treated in the intensive care unit (ICU), and none require ventilator support,” he said.
No new fatalities were reported, which leaves the death toll at 122.

Malaysia recorded 18 new cases on Friday (July 17), bringing the total infections to 8,755 with three recoveries, says the Health Ministry.
Of the 18 new positive cases reported, 10 were imported cases, involving seven Malaysians and three non-Malaysians, said Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
He said the three non-Malaysians were allowed to enter the country for business.

Malaysia recorded 3 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday (July 16), bringing the total number of infections to 8,737 cases.
Two of the cases were local transmissions, while one was imported.

The country recorded 14 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday (July 12) bringing the total infections to 8,718 with four recoveries.
The Health Ministry said that of the 14 new infections, three were imported cases.
“From the 11 local infections, three are Malaysians while the remaining eight are foreigners,” it said in a statement.
From the three local cases, two are from Sarawak and one from Sabah.
In Sarawak, the patient was admitted after showing symptoms, while the other was a close contact of case 8,694.
Meanwhile in Sabah, a Covid-19 case was identified after a pre-reference check to the Keningau Hospital.

Malaysia reported 8 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday (July 11), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 8,704.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said four were imported cases involving Malaysian returnees who had contracted the disease overseas.
“Four are local transmission cases, where two of them are Malaysians and two foreigners.
“There are three Covid-19 patients who are being treated at the intensive care units, and two who require ventilator support,” he said in a statement on Saturday.
Dr Noor Hisham said the country recorded one more death from Covid-19, taking the death toll to 122.
The death involved a 72-year-old man who had a history of hypertension and diabetes, he said, adding that he had several traditional treatments before being admitted to a private hospital on July 9.
“He was then referred to the Hospital Umum Sarawak, following suspicion of contracting Covid-19, ” he said.
Dr Noor Hisham noted that four patients have been discharged, bringing the total cumulative discharged cases to 8,515.

5 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the country on Sunday (July 5), bringing the total number of infections in Malaysia to 8,663, says the Health Ministry.

A total of 18 new Covid-19 cases were reported on Sunday (June 28), bringing the total number of infections to 8,634.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there are currently 195 active Covid-19 cases.
“All of them have been isolated and treated,” he said.
Out of the 18 new cases, four are imported cases involving three Malaysians and a foreigner who is either a Malaysian resident or was allowed entry for work purposes.
The rest of the cases are local infections among foreigners in Malaysia.
“There are no local cases involving Malaysians,” said Dr Noor Hisham in a statement on Sunday.
Out of the 14 local cases, nine were from the Pedas cluster in Negri Sembilan, two from the Sepang Immigration depot cluster, two were detected in Sabah and another in Kuala Lumpur.
One of the cases in Sabah involved an inmate who was screened before being released from prison while the other was detected in a patient with severe respiratory acute infection.
The case in Kuala Lumpur was detected at a construction site.
Currently, two Covid-19 patients are being treated at intensive care units and none are on ventilators.
Dr Noor Hisham also said 10 Covid-19 patients have recovered and discharged, which means the recovery rate is 96.3%.
There were no new deaths reported and the death toll remains at 121.
He also said only 4.3% of foreigners screened for Covid-19 tested positive for the disease.
“Since June 27, we tested 60,298 foreigners and 95.3% of them came back negative. We are still waiting for test results of 0.4% or 282 of those tested,” he said.
Dr Noor Hisham said 105 foreigners who tested positive are still being treated while 2,465 have recovered and been discharged.
There were also five deaths involving infected foreigners.
Dr Noor Hisham said the nine cases from the Pedas cluster reported Sunday had also been under quarantine because they had been exposed to the virus.
He added employers have a role to play to ensure workers follow standard operating procedures to curb the rise of Covid-19 infections as Malaysia enters the recovery phase.

Three positive cases were found related to the construction site cluster in Kuching — a supervisor and two Indonesian workers.
On the Hulu Langat condominium cluster, the index case is a tahfiz school student who was found positive following a health screening on June 8.
Contract tracing found a total of three cases related to this cluster.
Of the two import cases, one is a Malaysian returning from Mexico and the other was a permanent resident who came back from India.

Malaysia recorded 3 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday (June 23), taking the total number of infections in the country to 8,590.
All three cases are local transmissions and only one is a Malaysian.
This was announced by Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a statement on Tuesday (June 23).
One case, a non-Malaysian, is related to the Pedas cluster in Negri Sembilan.
The other two cases are related to the “home death” cluster in Sabah, involving a Malaysian and a foreigner.
They are family members of patient 8506.
The index case in this cluster is a senior citizen who died at home in Sabah and is the country’s 120th fatality.
Covid-19 tests conducted on the deceased found she was positive.
Dr Noor Hisham also said nine more cases have been discharged, which means that 8,186 patients have recovered from Covid-19 in Malaysia since the outbreak began.
This translates to a recovery rate of 95.3% out of the total number of cases in the country.
He added that there are currently 283 active cases still being treated at health facilities nationwide and that there are three patients being treated at the intensive care unit, with none on ventilator support.

Malaysia recorded 16 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday (June 21), bringing the total number of infections to 8,572.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah (pic) said out of the 16 new cases, three were imported cases involving two Malaysians and a permanent resident, who were all infected abroad.
Meanwhile, there were 13 locally transmitted cases involving nine foreigners and four Malaysians, he said in a statement on Sunday.
He added that the country saw no new Covid-19 deaths, keeping the death toll at 121, or 1.41% out of the overall number of cases.
Dr Noor Hisham also said 10 patients had recovered on Sunday with a total of 8,156 patients discharged since the Covid-19 outbreak began.

Malaysia recorded 14 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday (June 18), bringing the cumulative number of infections in the country to 8,529.
Of the 14 cases, three are imported cases involving two Malaysians and one permanent resident, said Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a statement Thursday.
Seven of the local transmission cases are non-Malaysians in Kuala Lumpur (two cases), Sarawak (two), Selangor (one), Sabah (one) and Perak (one).
Of the four Malaysian local transmission cases, two are staff working at the Bukit Jalil detention centre.
The other two were detected in Sarawak – including one from a pre-operation screening at the Sarawak General Hospital in Kuching.
The other Sarawak case is of an individual who was tested prior to flying overseas for a matter.

Malaysia reported 10 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday (June 17), bringing the total infections in the country to 8,515.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that all the new cases detected were local transmissions.
The 10 local transmission involved three foreigners and seven Malaysians.
“There are four positive Covid-19 cases who are being treated in Intensive Care Units (ICU), and there are no cases requiring ventilator support,” he said during his daily press briefing on Wednesday (June 17).
Dr Noor Hisham added that 140 patients have been discharged bringing the total cumulative discharged cases to 7,873.

Malaysia recorded 11 Covid-19 cases on Tuesday (June 16), taking the total number of infections in the country to 8,505.
Out of the 11 new cases, one was an imported case involving a returning Malaysian who was infected abroad.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said out of the 10 local transmission cases, four were Malaysians.
“Of the four, one case was a pre-surgery screening at the Putrajaya Hospital that was later transferred to Sungai Buloh Hospital, while the three others were close contacts of the 8,453 Covid-19 case in Sarawak.
“The three were family members of the 8,453 case,” he said in a statement on Tuesday.
He said of the six foreigners, two were from Kuala Lumpur and the remaining four from Negri Sembilan.
“One of the cases in Kuala Lumpur was a screening before going to work, while the other was part of the Kuala Lumpur Construction Site Cluster 2.
“Three of the cases in Negri Sembilan were part of the Pedas Cluster, while the remaining one was from the cleaning services company cluster,” he said.
He added that for now, there were four Covid-19 positive cases being treated in the Intensive Care Unit, with no cases needing respiratory aid.
“There were also no new deaths related to Covid-19 reported on Tuesday, with the death toll remaining at 121 cases (1.42% of all Covid-19 cases).
“There are now 333 cases which have recovered and were allowed to be discharged on Tuesday, comprising of 307 foreigners and 26 Malaysians,” he said, adding that the cumulative recovered cases discharged from ward was now 7,733 (90.9% of all cases).

Malaysia recorded 41 cases on Monday (June 15), taking the total number of infections in the country to 8,494.
Out of the 41 new cases, three were imported cases involving returning Malaysians who were infected abroad.
Of the 38 local transmission cases, six were Malaysians, said Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah at the Health Ministry’s daily Covid-19 media briefing.
Of the six, one was an acute respiratory infection (ARI) case at an old folks home in Kuala Selangor that was detected at the Tanjung Karang Hospital in Selangor.
The other five were either detected from close contacts of Covid-19 patients or from tahfiz school screenings in Sabah, Selangor, Negri Sembilan and Melaka.
There were 32 locally transmitted cases involving foreigners, and they included 14 cases at the Akademi Imigresen Malaysia in Port Dickson, which involved detainees who were transferred there from the Bukit Jalil Immigration Depot.
Another 15 were from the Pedas cluster in Negri Sembilan and two from the cleaning services company cluster.
Dr Noor Hisham also said 54 cases have been discharged, which means 7,400 patients have recovered from Covid-19 since the outbreak began.
Malaysia’s Covid-19 recovery rate is now at 87.1% out of the total number of positive cases.
There are now 973 active cases being treated at the country’s health facilities.
Currently, there are four patients treated at intensive care units (ICU) and non are on ventilator support.

Malaysia is currently under the recovery movement control order (MCO) phase which is scheduled to end on Aug 31.

Malaysia today recorded eight new Covid-19 cases comprising two imported cases and six local transmissions.
Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah (above) said the six local transmissions were made up of two citizens and four foreigners.
All four cases among foreigners are from the Kuala Lumpur construction site two clusters,” he said during the Health Ministry briefing in Putrajaya today.
Noor Hisham said the two citizens were from an influenza-like illness screening in Bintulu involving a polytechnic student and another from the screening of old folks home in Malacca.
As for the two imported cases, he said they were non-citizens with permanent resident status.
At present, no foreigners are allowed into the country except for those under Malaysia My Second Home (M2HH) programme, permanent residents and long-term social visit pass holders.
Noor Hisham also reported one new death involving an Indian national, bringing the total fatalities from Covid-19 to 121 cases.
The 67-year-old man was a detainee at the Bukit Jalil immigration depot where a major Covid-19 outbreak had taken place.
He had a history of diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and kidney disease.
He was found unconscious at the detention centre and was brought to Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
He passed away on June 12. A Covid-19 test found he was positive and a post-mortem is still ongoing.
Meanwhile, Noor Hisham said another 35 Covid-19 patients have been discharged, bringing the total recoveries to 7,346 or 86.9 percent of total cases.
This means the number of Covid-19 patients is now at 986, the first time active cases had gone under 1,000 since March 20.
Of these, four are in the intensive care unit.
The data released today is for the last 24 hours up to noon today.
A total of 9,279 swab test for Covid-19 were conducted yesterday by government labs.
However, private labs have yet to report their latest numbers to the government.
Today is also the last daily Health Ministry briefing on Covid-19. From next week onwards, the briefings will be held every Monday and Thursday.
Noor Hisham reiterated for Malaysians to avoid crowded places, confined spaces and close conversations which he referred to as the “3Cs”, as a precaution against Covid-19.
He also reminded the people to wash their hands with soap, wear a face mask in public and heed warnings from the Health Ministry, referred to as the “3Ws”.

There have been 43 new infections of Covid-19 today, bringing the total to 8,445.
There were also 143 recoveries bringing the total number of recoveries to 7,311, meaning there are just 1,014 active cases at the moment.
Of the new cases, five were imported, involving four Malaysians and one permanent resident.
Of the 38 local infections, 15 were Malaysians and 23 non-Malaysians. This is the first time this month that local Malaysian infections went into the double digits.
Of the non-Malaysians infected, 21 were from the Bukit Jalil immigration depot cluster who had been transferred to the Immigration Academy at Port Dickson for quarantine.
Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said they had tested positive after a third swab before they could be deported.
The two other migrant cases involved a worker at a vegetable wholesale market in Penampang, Sabah, and an estate worker in Temerloh Pahang.
Of the local Malaysian infections, seven were from tahfiz schools, namely two in Selangor, three in Negeri Sembilan and one each in Perak and Malacca.
One case also involved a youth in Kuala Lumpur who went to a clinic with a cold, but then tested positive for the coronavirus.

The latest casualty was a 96-year-old Malaysian woman who died at home in Sabah on June 12 and tested positive after her remains were brought to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The source of the infection is being probed.

Malaysia recorded 33 new cases of Covid-19 over the 24-hour period ending noon today and one death.
The victim, 85, is a Malaysian female who was found dead at her home yesterday.
She was brought to the Keningau Hospital in Sabah where she was tested positive for Covid-19.
According to Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, of the 33 new cases, 16 involved Malaysians returning from abroad and 14 involved foreigners.
Of the three local transmissions among Malaysians, one case was recorded in Kuala Lumpur and another was linked to the Selangor tahfiz cluster.
The remaining case involved an individual who had close contact with the person who was found dead yesterday.
Currently, the Covid-19 death toll in Malaysia stood at 119.
The total number of patients discharged over the same 24-hour period stood at 7,168 (85.3 percent recovery rate).
There are currently 1,115 individuals being treated of which five require intensive care and none require ventilator support.

Malaysia today recorded seven (7) new Covid-19 cases comprising six imported infections and one local transmission.
The single local transmission involved a foreigner, marking a milestone for the Health Ministry as for the first time, no Malaysian was infected locally since the start of the movement control order (MCO) on March 18.
The sole local transmission was discovered through the screening process imposed by the government before foreign employees can return to work.
Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said this brings the total cases to date to 8,336.
He also reported the highest number of Covid-19 recovery in a single day on record, with 281 patients discharged.
This brings the total recoveries to 6,975 people or 83.7 percent of all cases.
No new fatalities were reported today, maintaining the death toll at 117.
The updates are for the last 24 hours up to noon today.
A total of 10,216 Covid-19 swab tests were conducted by government labs yesterday.
However, private labs have yet to provide the numbers of tests they conducted for yesterday.
Government and private labs combined have the capacity to conduct 34,951 swab tests a day.
Speaking at the Health Ministry’s daily briefing in Putrajaya today, Noor Hisham said 1,244 people are still under treatment, of which six are in the intensive care unit (ICU).
From the Covid-19 patients in ICU, one needs the help of a ventilator to breathe.
Noor Hisham attributed the absence of reported local transmission among Malaysians in the last 24 hours to the whole government and society approach.
He said the trend of new cases in recent days is consistent with the projection model by the National Health Institute.
“The Health Ministry would like to congratulate Malaysians on their cooperation with the government for this achievement,” he said.
However, he cautioned that it was not time to let our guard down and urged Malaysians to continue to abide by the standard operation procedures (SOPs) to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

诺希山透露，里卡士妇孺医院确诊患者是准备接受手术的一名8个月大的女婴，调查工作正在进行中。
他指出，今天只有一个活跃感染群新增一宗确诊病例，即武吉加里尔扣留所，涉及移民局官员，患者并无症状，但或许是遭确诊的扣留者传染。
他说，当局已检测扣留所的官员和职员，迄今只发现一宗确诊病例，当局已展开主动追踪检测与确诊患者紧密接触者。
武吉加里尔扣留所有1623个样本，累积确诊病例609宗，1014个样本呈阴性反应；士毛月1785个样本，累积66宗确诊，1719个呈阴性反应。
雪邦扣留所1477个样本，累积确诊60宗，1417个呈阴性反应；布城扣留所101个样本，累积2宗确诊，99个呈阴性反应。
至于锁定目标群体423所宗教学校的一万6458个样本、447座巴刹的3万3425个样本和389所养老院的一万4417个样本检测，均没有新增病例。

There were 19 new infections of Covid-19 today, bringing the total to 8,322.
There were also 39 recoveries, with the total at 6,674. This means active infections are at 1,531.
Of the new infections, six were imported cases.
Of the local infections, 11 were Malaysians, and two were non-Malaysian citizens.
Of the 11 Malaysian cases, two were from a rehabilitation centre in Dengkil, a tahfiz madrasah (2), a police detainee in Sabak Bernam, and a screened worker in Klang.
There were two cases in Kuala Lumpur, one from the Cheras apartments cluster, and one from a new cluster in Gombak.
Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the new cluster involved the Gombak district police headquarters. The new case was a close contact of Patients 7,064 and 7,246.
The Gombak cluster has five cases in total at present.
Meanwhile, there was a positive case from a screened factory worker in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, and two new cases in Sabah who were familial contacts with Patients 3,641 and 4,537.
On the immigration depots where there was a recent outbreak, all test results have been released and there were no new cases reported today.

The latest casualty was Patient 2,296, a 79-year-old Malaysian woman who had close contact with Patient 1,508.
She started showing symptoms on March 18 and was warded on March 26 after testing positive. She died at 2pm yesterday.
Noor Hisham said six of the new cases were from the Kuala Lumpur construction site cluster, Pedas (4), Kuala Lumpur cleaning company (3), Pudu (1), Kampung Sungai Lui (1).

Malaysia has suffered its first Covid-19 fatality since May 22, said Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in his daily briefing today.
“The 116th fatality (patient 7733) was a Malaysian male aged 61 with a history of diabetes, hypertension, and kidney cancer. He was admitted to the Hajjah Khalsom General Hospital, Johor on May 29, 2020, and passed away on June 4, 2020, at 10.20pm,” said Dr Noor Hisham.
He said as of June 5, noon, there were 19 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total to 8,266 cases.
There were 51 patients who have recovered and were discharged today meaning that 6,610 (80 percent) have recovered in total.
The movement control order (MCO) and conditional MCO have also reduced incidence of infectious diseases such as Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD), measles, and chickenpox, said Noor Hisham.
He added that of the 19 new Covid-19 positive cases reported today, seven are imported cases and 12 are locally transmitted, of which nine are Malaysians and three, non-Malaysians.
Six Covid-19 patients are reported to be in intensive care units with one of them requiring a ventilator for breathing, he said.
There are currently 1,540 active cases being treated at the country’s health facilities, Noor Hisham added.
Elaborating on the incidences of other diseases, he said that a comparative analysis of diseases reported up to the 22nd week of 2019 versus the 22nd week of 2020 saw a significant decrease in the number of some contagious diseases.
HFMD had a reduction of 44.6 percent cases, measles had a 58.3 percent case decrease and chickenpox saw a decrease of 44.4 cases over that time frame.
“The decline in these cases is one of the positive results of the implementation of the MCO and the conditional MCO which were also assisted by hygienic practices.
“However, in the event of a Covid-19 outbreak, it is feared that there is also a decline in immunisation rates for babies and children, possibly as parents are worried about taking the little ones out of the house to the clinic,” said Noor Hisham.

The number of Covid-19 cases in the country has jumped to 277 as of noon today, pushing the total number of cases to 8,247. This is also the highest single-day increase on record.
Of this number, 271 cases were non-Malaysian citizens, including 270 cases from the Bukit Jalil Immigration Detention Depot. One other non-Malaysian case was from a construction site in Pudu.
Only six of the new cases were Malaysians, of which four were locally transmitted and two were imported cases.
Twenty-eight patients have recovered, bringing the total cured to 6,559, meaning there are 1,573 active cases.
Six patients remain under intensive care, of which only two require ventilators.
There were no new deaths reported for the 13th consecutive day.
With the new increase, there are now 608 cases from the immigration depots, including two that have recovered.
Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the new infections were the result of a second swab being conducted on the detainees.
He said the number of cases today especially among non-Malaysians is worrying, but the detections were the result of hard work.

诺希山指出，过去24小时内，另外有61名病患出院，使累计康复者达6531人，占总病例的81.9%。
目前尚有1324名病患还在留院治疗， 当中6人入住加护病房，其中2人须要呼吸器辅助。

Malaysia today recorded 20 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections to 7,877 to date.
Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said 15 out of the 20 new cases today were imported, meaning they were Malaysians returning from abroad.
There were only five local transmissions comprising three non-citizens and two Malaysians.
Among Malaysians, one new infection was detected at the Labuan ferry terminal while another is from the Pedas cluster in Negeri Sembilan where an outbreak began at a chicken farm.
The last time the country reported only five or fewer locally transmitted cases was almost three months ago on March 5.
As for the imported cases, seven involved Malaysians returning from Egypt while five were from Saudi Arabia and one each from Mexico, India and China, Noor Hisham told a press conference in Putrajaya today.
He also reported 66 new recoveries, bringing the total patients who have recovered to 6,470 or 82.14 percent of the total number of cases.
A total of 1,292 Covid-19 patients are still under treatment, of which six are in the intensive care units (ICU). Of the ICU patients, two need ventilators to breathe.
No new death was reported today, maintaining the death toll at 115 for the 12th consecutive day.
According to Health Ministry data, a total of 12,242 swab tests for Covid-19 were conducted by public labs yesterday.
However, data on the total number of tests from private labs yesterday were not yet available.
Public and private labs combined have a maximum capacity of 29,787 tests a day.
On a separate matter, Noor Hisham noted that some may celebrate Hari Raya for up to a month but reiterated that gatherings are prohibited to contain the spread of Covid-19.
This is after the discovery of a new Covid-19 cluster believed to be linked to Hari Raya visits.
He reiterated for people to comply with the movement control order.
Noor Hisham also encouraged the public to avoid crowded places, confined spaces and close conversations.
He added that people should frequently wash their hands with soap and wear a face mask in public places.

卫生总监诺希山公布，截止今日中午12点，国内新增2019冠病例为57宗，其中47宗为本土感染案例，其余10宗则为境外输入案例。
诺希山在布城召开在记者会时说明，47个本土感染的病患之中，仅4人为大马公民，其余43人则是外籍人士。
换言之，马来西亚目前的累计确诊人数为7819人。
43名新增外籍病例包括：雪邦移民局扣留营24宗、彭亨3个涉及外劳的簇群15宗、甘榜双溪内簇群1宗、半山芭簇群1宗、准备送往扣留营的非法移民1宗，以及巴生外劳1宗。
至于新增的10宗境外输入型病例，则是从新加坡（一宗）、埃及（7宗）、日本（一宗）和汶莱（一宗）回国的大马人。
随着今日康复出院的人数有23人，因此累计康复病例人数已达6353人，或81.25%。

卫生总监诺希山公布，截止今日中午12点，国内新增2019冠病例为30宗，其中27宗为本土感染案例，其余3宗则为境外输入案例。
诺希山在布城召开在记者会时说明，27个本土感染的病例之中，10人为大马公民，另外17人则是外籍人士。
换言之，马来西亚目前的累计确诊人数为7662人。
随着今日康复出院的人数有95人，因此累计康复病例人数已达6330人，康复率为81.55%。
不过，目前也仍然有1317人住院治疗，其中9人住在加护病房，其中2人需要靠呼吸器维持生命。
自5月22日开始至今，马来西亚住在加护病房的重症患者数量都维持个位数。
值得庆幸的是，马来西亚今日已是连续9天无新增死亡病例，目前死亡人数维持于115人，或死亡率1.48%。
根据卫生部数据，今日新增的病例之中，13例来自吉隆坡、5例来自雪州、4例来自森美兰、4例来自布城。
与此同时， 马六甲和柔佛也分别出现2宗及1宗案例。
卫生部在移民社群展开大规模筛检之后，近来有几日的单日新增病例突破三位数。尽管如此，整体而言，马来西亚病例新增曲线仍是呈往下的趋势。
截止近日中午12点，全马活跃病例数量最高的地区为蕉赖（328宗），居次的是乌鲁冷岳（101宗）。

大马2019冠病病例今天再度回升三位数。卫生总监诺希山透露，截至中午12点，共有103名病患确诊，使得累计冠病病例达到7732宗。
诺希山今天在布城召开例常汇报会时指出，今天确诊病例再度攀升，主因是有更多外籍人士确诊。

Daripada 103 kes baru, tujuh merupakan kes import.
Daripada 96 kes jangkitan tempatan pula, 84 kes melibatkan warga asing, yang terdiri daripada 53 kes dari kluster Pedas, iaitu membabitkan syarikat kilang memproses ayam di Negeri Sembilan.
Sebanyak 24 kes dikesan melibatkan kluster syarikat pembersihan.
Justeru, kata Noor Hisham, hanya 12 kes melibatkan warganegara malaysia.
Setakat tengah hari tadi, 66 lagi pesakit sembuh sepenuhnya, menjadikan jumlah keseluruhan yang pulih dari jangkitan wabak itu ialah 6,235, atau 80.64 peratus daripada keseluruhan kes.
Mengambil kira kes yang sudah sembuh, jumlah kes aktif Covid-19 di Malaysia ialah 1,382 kes.
Noor Hisham juga hari ini memaklumkan tiada kematian baru dilaporkan, menjadikan jumlah korban akibat Covid-19 di Malaysia kekal sebanyak 115 kes.

马来西亚2019冠状病毒疫情再次升级。卫生总监诺希山透露，截至今天中午12点，共新增了187名确诊病患，导致累计病例增加到7604宗。
诺希山称，在这187宗新病例中，有10人为输入型病例，意即他们是在国外染病。
Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said 155 of the new cases have been reported at the detention facility, bringing the total there to 281 cases.
This makes it the second-largest Covid-19 cluster in the country, after the Seri Petaling tabligh cluster that involved 3,369 people.
The third-largest is the Indonesian Pesantren Islamic school cluster which involved 238 people.
Noor Hisham said all 281 cases at the Bukit Jalil cluster so far are foreign nationals. A total of 1,543 people including staff have been tested, of which 180 tests are still pending.
No new cases have been reported at the Semenyih and Sepang Immigration Detention Depots, and the total still stands at 66 cases (including one Immigration Department staff) and 36 cases respectively.
However, there are still 337 tests still pending for the Semenyih depot and the nine tests for the Sepang depot.

Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said of the 172 cases, five were imported cases, while 159 cases involved non-citizens. Of the non-citizens, 112 cases were detected at the immigration depots.
“Members of the public need not worry because these immigration depots are places isolated from the public and controlled by the authorities.
“There are eight local citizens who tested positive today,” he said at his daily media briefing in Putrajaya today.

随着今天增加60宗病例，马来西亚累计的2019冠病病例达到7245宗。
根据卫生总监诺希山今午发布的数据，今天新增的60宗确诊病例中，57例来自巴生谷，其中雪兰莪报46例，而吉隆坡则有11例。
余下3宗新增病例，则分别是沙巴2例，柔佛1例。

他在文告中说，今天新增的60宗确诊病例中，53宗为本土感染，7宗是境外输入。

他也劝请穆斯林延后拜访其他家庭及朋友，同时避免跨州，以免病毒在其他地区如绿区扩散。

Meanwhile, the Health Ministry has also reported a new cluster centred on construction workers in Setia Alam.
The cluster was first identified on May 6, after being notified by a private hospital that three workers who were screened had tested positive.
There are 12 cases from this cluster as of noon today, all of whom are migrants.
This is the third blue-collar migrant worker cluster to have been reported this week, besides the Pedas and the Cheras security guards clusters. Previously, a cluster of construction workers in Jalan Ampang had also been reported.
Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah had said previously that infections spread faster among migrants due to cramped living conditions.
Of the currently active cases, 18 are now in ICU with six requiring ventilators.

（吉隆坡1日讯）首相丹斯里慕尤丁宣布，5月4日起，有条件地开放国内大部份的经济活动及社会活动。
他说，所有的商业领域、工业领域、社会领域及社会活动，有允许有条件地，根据执法当局定下的标准作业指标（SOP）来营运。
至于不能重新开放的领域，包括涉及多人集会和难以保持社交距离的领域，如娱乐中心、电影院、体育活动等。
他说，公众将可以进行部份的运动，包括玩羽球与高尔夫球。“但政府不允许集体式的体育活动，包括足球活动。”

1）从4月开始，政府将会提供一次性RM500，给予全国150万名 Gred56 级别以下的公务员，包括合约员工。
2）另外85万名退休公务员，也会获得一次性250令吉。款项4月发放。
3）所有属于中央政府的建筑物的豁免租金长达6个月，如学校食堂、幼儿园、餐厅、多用途商店等。
4）从4月起，使用电量在200kw的用户可获得50％折扣，使用电量201至300kw的用户25%折扣，以及15%折扣给使用电量301至600kw的用户。长达6个月。至于之前宣布给用户的2%折扣继续保持。
5）豁免人民组屋PPR的居民租金长达6个月
6）月收入2000令吉至4000令吉的21岁以上单身人士，获500令吉援助，4月份发250令吉，5月250令吉。
7）月收入2000令吉以下的21岁以上单身人士，获800令吉援助。4月份发500令吉，5月300令吉。
8）家庭月收入超过4000令吉至8000令吉，获1000令吉援助；4月份发500吉，5月500令吉。
9）家庭月收入4000令吉及以下的家庭获1600令吉援助金；4月份发 1000令吉，5月600令吉。
10）从4月起，军人、警察、关税局、移民局、民防人员及涉及在行动管制令期间执勤的志愿警卫队（RELA）也将获得200令吉的特别津贴，直到冠病疫情结束。
11）从4月起，医生、护士及医护人员的特别津贴从原本的400令吉增加至每月600令吉，直到冠病疫情结束。
12）政府也会分发一次性200令吉给每名受影响的高等学府学生。
13）首相表示，为了提高卫生部的能力，政府将额外增加10亿令吉拨款，以购买对抗冠病病毒的仪器和服务。
14）从4月起，所有领域豁免人力资源发展基金（HRDF）的人头税，长达6个月。
15）首相也宣布，从4月起，向12万名电召车司机拨出一次性500令吉援助金。
16）首相慕尤丁说，为协助雇主留住工人及不想看到员工失业，政府将拨款59亿令吉推出工资补贴计划；通过这项计划，政府将为雇主承担员工每月600令吉的工资，为期三个月。这项计划只是专门针对收入低于4000令吉的雇员和自今年1月1日以来，收入减少50％的雇主。
17）政府宣布跟电讯公司合作，在行管令期间，免费为人民提供互联网。
另外，首相宣布关怀人民振兴经济计划时指出，他也关心面对现金流动问题的商家，政府为了帮助因这个问题蒙受压力的上级，落实了几项措施。
18）因此从4月1日起，政府允许所有中小企业推迟所得税分期付款3个月。这是早前政府宣布让所有受影响的旅游业推迟所得税分期付款长达6个月后的附加措施，其他受影响的领域，他们获准修正基本营业期间的第3个月、第6个月及第9个月的所得税数额。
19）首相丹斯里慕尤丁宣布，公积金局（EPF）将在4月15日推介“雇主协商服务”，这个服务将包括雇主为员工缴纳公积金推迟、重组和重新排期（Penjadualan Semula）。这项措施也将惠及48万个受影响的中小企业及公司，预计将为雇主省下总共100亿令吉的现金流,同时拯救超过800万份工作。

卫生总监诺希山今午召开记者会，公布截至今天中午12点为止的病例数据。
马来西亚过去一天新增235宗2019冠病病例，累计确诊病例达到2031宗，而死亡病例则增加4宗至23宗。
“我遗憾地公布，迄今再增加4宗死亡病例，累计死亡病例达到23宗。”
诺希山指出，已检测1万3762名大城堡宣教集会出席者，当中9327人或67.77%有症状，而5646人对病毒呈阴性反应，2564人仍在等候报告。

国家银行宣布所有银行从今年4月1日起，为所有个人和企业提供6个月的延长摊还贷款宽限期，但这并不包括信用卡欠款。所有中小型企业和个人银行贷款（除了信用卡）将自动延期6个月，不需要各别向银行提出申请，以协助国人度过难关！

不会，因为Bank Negara宣布了全部银行不可以放这些ccris record，就算不还，你的record还是很美的！
✅什么人不可以参与以上这个6个月暂停还贷款计划？
只要你在4月1日前的90天内没有还过银行贷款，那你就不能参与！建议你在4月1日前快点去还掉，这样你就可以参与了！
✅信用卡呢？我也是不用还钱先吗？
不是哦~信用卡没有在这项计划内，如果你有需要可以去银行申请auto balance conversion！银行会把信用卡的balance变去贷款，你可以分期付款还给银行，可以分高达3年，利息13%
✅我的屋子还没建好，还没拿钥匙，但每个月有在给利息，这6个月我也是可以不用给先？
你还是要给，因为这不属于payment holiday period计划内！

建议你马上去银行申请停止auto debit
✅这样银行会不会没有钱周转啊？
不会！国家银行有储备金，他们把1%的钱（约300亿马币）给回银行周转！

截至2020年3月23日中午12点，马来西亚再增加4名2019冠病病患病逝，累计死亡病例达到14宗。此外，新增病例212宗，累计病例达到1518宗。
行动管制令的实行，是防疫的一剂猛药，但其副作用亦相对剧烈，商业活动的停摆，就像是举国憋气潜入水底，与病毒隔绝，期待在缺氧溺毙之前，撑到病毒退散。航空公司大砍票价，旅行社、活动策划公司收入基本归零，夜市小贩、餐饮业等中小企业的现金与存款很快就会消耗殆尽，百行百业缓缓窒息，大家都在等着政府输送氧气。
