Malaysia recorded another 4,979 Covid-19 cases, the Health Ministry reported on Sunday (Oct 31).

Covid-19: 5,854 new cases, cumulative total now 2,466,663
Malaysia recorded another 5,854 Covid-19 cases, the Health Ministry reported on Saturday (Oct 30).
In a Twitter post, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said cumulatively, the country had recorded 2,466,663 Covid-19 cases since the pandemic began.
Earlier, the Health Ministry had said through its CovidNow portal that a total of 63 new Covid-19 fatalities were recorded on Friday (Oct 29), bringing the cumulative death toll to 28,832.
Of the number, eight deaths were classified as “brought-in-dead”.
The number of active cases currently stands at 70,058 cases, with 77.2% or 54,090 being patients with mild infections who are undergoing home quarantine.
Another 9,453 or 13.5% patients are those under isolation at low-risk quarantine centres (PKRC) while the number of those being hospitalised are 5,948 or 8.5%.
There are currently 267 patients in intensive care units (ICU) who do not require ventilator support, while another 300 are on ventilators.

Covid-19: 5,726 new cases bring total to 2,442,224
Malaysia recorded 5,726 new Covid-19 cases, the Health Ministry reported on Tuesday (Oct 26).
In his daily Covid-19 statement, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said of that total, 98.3% (5,629 cases) of them are mild and asymptomatic infections.
“Another 97 cases or 1.7% are category 3, 4 and 5 infections,” said Dr Noor Hisham.
There are 15 imported cases, involving nine Malaysians and six foreigners.
Cumulatively, Malaysia has 2,442,224 cases of Covid-19 since the pandemic began.
Dr Noor Hisham also said there were 5,607 people discharged from treatment in the same 24-hour span.
Total recoveries are now 2,340,390, or a recovery rate of 95.8% out of all cases.
There are 598 patients in intensive care units (ICU), of which 512 are confirmed Covid-19 cases while the others are suspected infections.
Some 308 patients in the country are on ventilator support.
The Health Ministry also identified seven new infection clusters in the country.
These include five workplace outbreaks found in Johor (two clusters), Kedah, Melaka and Perak.
There is one community cluster in Sabah and one outbreak at a higher learning institute in Negri Sembilan.
To date, there are 506 active clusters nationwide.

Malaysia reported 9,890 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday (Oct 7), says the Health Ministry.
In a series of tweets, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that the country’s total cumulative infections now stands at 2,313,727 cases.
The states with the highest case numbers are Sarawak (1,413), Selangor (1,402), Kelantan (1,032), Johor (993) and Sabah (820).
Aside from these states, the statistics are as follows; Perak (794), Penang (721), Terengganu (699), Pahang (564), Kedah (503), Melaka (260), Kuala Lumpur (250), Perlis (200), Negri Sembilan (180), Putrajaya (59) and Labuan with no new cases.

Another 8,817 cases, number stays at four figures for third day
Malaysia recorded 8,817 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday (Oct 5), making it the third day infections have remained in four figures.
In a Twitter post, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the country’s cumulative number of cases is now 2,294,457.
Three states have more than 1,000 cases – Sarawak with 1,361, Selangor (1,348) and Kelantan (1,063).
In other states and territories, Johor has 886 cases, Sabah (805), Pahang (696), Penang (595), Kedah (576), Perak (473), Terengganu (356), Melaka (246), Kuala Lumpur (217), Negri Sembilan (122), Perlis (47), Putrajaya (23) and Labuan (three).
Meanwhile, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said the total number of cases recorded yesterday was from 170,933 tests that were conducted.
“(This translates to a) 5.16% positivity rate. Let’s pray this trend continues as we focus on symptomatic testing and quick self-isolation,” he tweeted on Tuesday (Oct 5).
In response, Dr Noor Hisham said he believes that there were many more negative results from self-testing not reported to the system.
“Therefore, it’s possible the denominator could be larger and the positive rate lower,” he said.

Lowest daily figures in nearly three months
Malaysia reported its lowest daily case figure in about three months, as the country reported 8,075 new infections on Monday (Oct 4).
In his daily Covid-19 statement, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the country’s cumulative total number of cases is now 2,285,640.
“Of the 8,075 new cases, 98% of them are either mild or asymptomatic cases. Another 160 cases (2%) are Category 3, 4 and 5 cases,” said Dr Noor Hisham.
The last time Malaysia had a lower daily case figure was nearly three months ago, when the country reported 7,097 cases on July 7.
It is also the second day in a row that the country’s case tally is below 10,000.
Only two states reported case increases – Sarawak with 1,189 cases and Kelantan with 1,020.
The Klang Valley continued to report much improved figures, with Selangor recording 686 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 151 and Putrajaya with 19.
There were 15,456 patients discharged on Sunday (Oct 3), making it the eighteenth consecutive day where recoveries outnumbered new cases.
The country’s cumulative Covid-19 recoveries is now at 2,116,021.
This is a recovery rate of 92.6%.
The number of patients in intensive care units (ICUs) is now at 867.
Dr Noor Hisham said of the 867 ICU patients, 807 are confirmed Covid-19 cases, while the others are suspected cases.
There are 461 patients on ventilator support.
Nationwide, the ICU utilisation rate is now at 64%.
Malaysia’s infectivity rate is at an Rt level of 0.87, as of Sunday (Oct 3).
Only Putrajaya (Rt 1.02), Perlis (Rt 1.02) and Terengganu (Rt 1.00) have Rt levels above 1.
The Health Ministry also identified 15 new infection clusters nationwide.
This brings the current total of active clusters to 989.
The country’s active Covid-19 cases have gone down to around 150,000, of which 82% are people with mild or asymptomatic infections and are undergoing home quarantine.

Malaysia reported 12,735 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday (Sept 30), says the Health Ministry.
This brings the total number of Covid-19 cases in the country since the pandemic began to 2,245,695.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that Sarawak continued to have the most new infections with 2,487 cases on Thursday.
This was followed by Selangor (1,940), Johor (1,241) and Kelantan (1,232).

Malaysia reported 10,959 new Covid-19 cases, the Health Ministry said on Monday (Sept 27).
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah tweeted that the country’s total cumulative infections is now 2,209,194.
Sarawak (2,723 cases) and Johor (1,226) are the only states to record four-digit increases, while the rest reported less than 1,000 infections.
The last time Malaysia reported less daily cases was on July 18, when the country recording 10,710 infections.
Of the 10,959 new cases, 12 were imported infections.
About 98% of the cases are mild and asymptomatic infections.
In the same 24-hour span, 16,340 Covid-19 patients were discharged from treatment.
This brings the total number of recoveries to 2,005,942, which is a recovery rate of 90.8%.
The number of patients under intensive care is now 980 cases, of which 579 require ventilator support.

Sarawak recorded the highest daily figure with 2,825 infections, followed by Selangor (2,244) and Johor (1,807).
Kuala Lumpur continued to record low daily case figures with the Federal Territory reporting 271 new infections.

The number of patients who recovered from Covid-19 in Malaysia today exceeded new cases when 16,650 recoveries were recorded compared to 15,759 new infections, said Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
He said that of the 15,759 new cases reported, only 288 cases or 1.8% were in categories three, four and five.
“A total of 15,471 or 98.2% of the cases are in categories one and two,” he said in a statement.
Covid-19 is a five-category disease, with category five being the most severe.
Dr Noor Hisham said the data on death and other data on the current situation regarding Covid-19 in Malaysia would be uploaded on the GitHub and https://covidnow.moh.gov.my websites.
He said 23 new clusters were reported on Tuesday (Sept 21), with nine clusters involving workplaces, nine in the community, three involving high-risk groups and two linked to education institutions.
He said the Covid-19 infectivity rate (R-Naught) in the country today was 0.93.
Pahang had the highest R-Naught reading at 1.07 while Labuan was the only state with zero R-Naught value, he added.
Cumulatively, Tthere have been 2,127,934 cases in Malaysia to date.

14,345 new cases bring total to 2,112,175
Malaysia recorded 14,345 new Covid-19 cases on Monday (Sept 20), bringing the cumulative total to 2,112,175.
Sarawak recorded the highest number of cases at 3,611, followed by Johor (1,598) and Selangor (1,365).
Out of the 14,345 new cases reported on Monday, 43 were imported while the remaining were local infections.
Out of all the new cases, 212 or 1.5% were under categories three, four and five while the remaining 14,133 cases or 98.5% were under categories one and two.
Also out of the 14,345 new cases, a total of 1,167 cases required intensive care, whereby 906 were Covid-19 cases and the remaining 261 were either suspected, probable or cases that are under investigation.
A total of 636 cases required ventilatory assistance, of which 407 were Covid-19 cases and the remaining 229 cases were either suspected, probable or cases that are still under investigation.
Malaysia also saw the emergence of 23 new clusters, bringing the cumulative number of clusters logged to 5,305, of which 3,970 had already ended, meaning there are now 1,335 active clusters.
A total of 16,814 recoveries were also recorded, bringing the total number of recoveries since the Covid-19 pandemic began to 1,880,736, or 89% of cases.

A total of 14,954 new Covid-19 cases were reported on Sunday (Sept 19), bringing the cumulative total to 2,097,830, says the Health Ministry.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Sarawak recorded the highest number of cases with 2,707 infections, followed by Selangor (2,028), Johor (1,948), Kelantan (1,420) and Sabah (1,356).

18,815 new cases, Sarawak highest with 3,660 infections
Malaysia recorded 18,815 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday (Sept 16), bringing the cumulative total to 2,049,750, says the Health Ministry.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a tweet said Sarawak recorded the highest number of cases at 3,660 followed by Selangor (2,718) and Johor (2,206).
He said there were 16,939 recoveries, bringing the total number to 1,800,278.
There were 1,222 patients being treated in intensive care units (ICUs).
A total of 913 were confirmed to be Covid-19 cases while 309 were suspected of being positive.
A total of 710 patients are on ventilator support.

Malaysia reported 16,073 new Covid-19 cases on Monday (Sept 13), says the Health Ministry).
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the country’s cumulative total number of infections now stood at 1,995,771.
Sarawak recorded the highest daily figure with 3,522 new Covid-19 infections, followed by Johor (2,030) and Selangor (1,947).
Cases in other states are as follows: Sabah (1,649), Penang (1,243), Kedah (1,191), Kelantan (1,070), Perak (1,011), Pahang (878), Terengganu (704), Kuala Lumpur (398), Melaka (206), Perlis (41), Putrajaya (16) and Labuan (11).
Of the 16,073 new cases, 21 are imported cases while the rest are local transmissions.
The locally transmitted cases involved 14,352 (89.4%) Malaysians and 1,700 (10.6%) foreign nationals.
Some 1,312 patients are in intensive care units nationwide. Of this total, 967 are confirmed Covid-19 cases, while 345 are suspected cases.
Another 698 patients are on ventilators, of which 444 are confirmed Covid-19 cases while 254 are suspected.
In the same 24-hour span, 24,813 patients in the country were discharged from treatment.
A total of 1,756,526 people in Malaysia have recovered from Covid-19.

Malaysia recorded 21,176 new cases, bringing the nation’s cumulative total to 1,940,950.
In a tweet on Friday (Sept 10), the Health Ministry added that another 341 people succumbed to Covid-19, bringing the country’s death toll to 20,168.
It also said there were 21,476 recoveries for a total of 1,700,438 to date.

Malaysia recorded 20,396 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the nation’s cumulative total to 1,844,835.
In a tweet on Sunday (Sept 5), the Health Ministry said of the figure, 20,388 were local infections while eight were imported cases.
Another 336 people succumbed to Covid-19, bringing the country’s death toll to 18,219.
It also said there were 20,573 recoveries for a total of 1,570,827 to date.
The number of active cases is now 255,789.
Of this number, 959 are in intensive care units (ICU), with 436 requiring ventilator support.

Malaysia recorded 19,057 new Covid-19 infections on Saturday (Sept 4), bringing the total numbers of cases in the country since the pandemic began to 1,824,439.

Malaysia has 19,378 more cases of Covid-19 on Friday (Sept 3), the Health Ministry reported.
Cumulatively, Malaysia has had 1,805,382 Covid-19 cases since the pandemic began.

Malaysia has 20,988 more cases of Covid-19 on Thursday (Sept 2), the Health Ministry reported.
Cumulatively, Malaysia has had 1,786,004 Covid-19 cases since the pandemic began.
Selangor has 4,073 new cases – the highest among all states.
Sarawak has the second highest with 2,992 cases, followed by Kedah (2,455).
In the same 24-hour span, 23,473 patients were discharged from treatment.
This brings the total recoveries up to 1,506,273.
Another 249 people died, bringing the country’s Covid-19 death toll to 17,191.
Currently, there are 262,540 active Covid-19 patients nationwide.
This includes 1,417 patients in intensive care units (ICU).
Of that total, 1,001 are confirmed as Covid-19 cases, while another 416 are suspected cases.
There are also 783 patients who require breathing assistance.
Of this, 470 are confirmed to be Covid-19 positive, while 313 are suspected cases.

18,762 new cases bring total to 1,765,016
Malaysia recorded 18,762 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday (Sept 1), bringing the cumulative total to 1,765,016.
In a tweet on Wednesday, the Health Ministry said of the figure, 18,757 were local infections while five were imported cases.
Another 278 people succumbed to Covid-19, bringing the country’s death toll to 16,942.
It also said there were 21,073 recoveries for a total of 1,482,800 to date.
The number of active cases is now 265,274.

A total of 20,897 new Covid-19 cases were reported in the past 24 hours, up from 19,268 cases on Monday (Aug 30).
The country has recorded more than 20,000 cases daily from Aug 24-29, with the highest figure of 24,599 on Aug 26.
In a tweet on Monday, the Health Ministry said the total number of infections in Malaysia was now 1,746,254.
It also said of the 20,897 new cases, 20,896 were local infections while only one was an imported case.
Another 282 people succumbed to Covid-19, bringing the country’s death toll to 16,664.
It also said there were 18,465 recoveries for a total of 1,461,727 to date.
The number of active cases is now 267,863.
Of this number, 1,005 are in intensive care units (ICU), with 464 requiring ventilator support.

The Health director-general tweeted that Selangor remained the state with the highest number of cases with 4,591 infections, followed by Sabah (2,578) and Sarawak (2,522).

Malaysia recorded 22,597 new Covid-19 infections and 252 deaths on Saturday (Aug 28).
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said with the new cases, the country’s cumulative total to date was now 1,685,510.
Of the new cases, 22,585 were local infections while 12 were imported cases.
Another 252 people succumbed to Covid-19, bringing the country’s death toll to 15,802.

Malaysia reported a record high of 23,564 new Covid-19 cases on Friday (Aug 20), bringing the cumulative total to 1,513,024, according to the Health Ministry.
This surpasses the record high of 22,948 set just a day before on Thursday (Aug 19).
Selangor reports the highest number of cases at 6,974.
Sabah is second highest with 2,738 cases followed by Sarawak with 2,548. These are new state records.

Malaysia has 19,631 new cases of Covid-19 on Tuesday (Aug 17), the Health Ministry reported.
The country’s Covid-19 infections total has now reached 1,444,270.
Selangor has the highest number of cases with 5,753 new infections.
Sabah came in second with 2,103 new cases followed by Kedah with 1,863 cases.
Kuala Lumpur, which is usually second highest, has 1,765 new cases.
Cases in other states are as follows: Johor (1,309), Kelantan (1,268), Penang (1,275), Perak (1,101), Sarawak (835), Pahang (670), Melaka (623), Terengganu (498), Putrajaya (41) and Perlis (37).
Labuan has zero new cases.
Malaysia reported 293 more Covid-19 deaths, taking the nationwide death toll to 13,077.
The country also discharged 16,468 patients in the same period.
To date, 1,179,046 people in Malaysia have recovered from the virus.
There are now 252,147 active cases nationwide.

There were also 16,945 recoveries, which means 1,145,128 have recovered from the disease nationwide.
There are still 1,059 patients in intensive care units, with 526 requiring ventilation support.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a tweet that Selangor remained the state with the highest number cases at 7,307.

There are 21,468 more cases of Covid-19 in Malaysia, the Health Ministry confirmed on Friday (Aug 13).
This takes the country’s cumulative total to 1,363,683 cases.
Seven states have more four figures new cases: Selangor (7,449 cases), Kuala Lumpur (2,183), Kedah (1,807), Sabah (1,654), Johor (1,485), Penang (1,316) and Kelantan (1,088).
In the same 24-hour span, the country reported 277 new Covid-19 deaths.
The national Covid-19 death toll is now 11,968.
The country discharged 17,025 more patients, bringing the total recoveries to 1,110,528.
Currently, there are 241,187 active cases nationwide.

This is the highest daily figure so far since the pandemic began.
The nation’s cumulative number of Covid-19 cases has now reached 1,342,215 cases.
Seven states reported four-digit figures – Selangor (6,278 cases), Kuala Lumpur (2,436), Kedah (2,143), Sabah (2,052), Johor (1,706), Penang (1,229) and Sarawak (1,216).
Malaysia also recorded 318 more coronavirus deaths.
The country’s death toll is now 11,691.
In the same 24-hour span, 17,687 patients were discharged from treatment.
To date, 1,093,503 people in Malaysia have recovered from Covid-19 (81.47% of all cases).
Currently, there are 237,021 active Covid-19 cases nationwide.

Malaysia recorded 20,780 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday (Aug 11), says the Health Ministry.
This is the country’s second highest daily figure ever, just behind the 20,889 cases recorded on August 6.
The country’s cumulative total has now reached 1,320,547 cases.
Selangor has the highest number of cases with 6,921 new infections.
Seven other states have more than 1,000 cases – Kuala Lumpur (2,065 cases), Johor (1,693), Kedah (1,534), Sabah (1,514), Penang (1,385), Kelantan (1,284) and Negri Sembilan (1,015)

Another 201 fatalities and 19,991 new cases
Another 201 people succumbed to Covid-19, bringing the country’s death toll to 11,162.
In a tweet on Tuesday (Aug 10), the Health Ministry also said Malaysia recorded 19,991 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the cumulative total to 1,299,767.
The Health Ministry said all 19,991 cases were local infections.
It also said there were 16,258 recoveries for a total of 1,057,843 to date.
The number of active cases is now 230,762.
Of this number, 1,096 are in intensive care units (ICU), with 570 requiring ventilator support.
Selangor recorded the highest number of cases at 7,338, followed by Kuala Lumpur (2,374) and Kedah (1,830).

Malaysia recorded a new high of 20,889 Covid-19 cases on Friday (Aug 6), bringing the cumulative number of infections in the country to 1,224,595 cases.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Selangor still accounted for the most number of cases, with 8,792 new infections followed by Kuala Lumpur (2,483).
In a tweet Friday, Dr Noor Hisham said three other states recorded more than 1,000 new cases each – Kedah with 1,371, Sabah (1,291) and Johor (1,275).
Only two localities reported single-digit figures – Labuan and Perlis with nine new Covid-19 cases each.
The country discharged 16,394 Covid-19 patients – also a new daily record.
To date, 993,020 people (81% of all cases) in Malaysia have recovered from Covid-19.
There were 160 more Covid-19 deaths, taking the death toll to 10,179.
Total active cases in the country rose to 221,396.
